In a word, it is also a simplified version<\/b> of verb groupings from the Longman Grammar of Spoken and Written English<\/b> (p.361-364). <\/span><\/p>\n

Verbs (3): How many verbs are there (Part II)?<\/span>

\nLast time we talked about the amount of verbs in Business English. And to make things <\/span>easy<\/b><\/span> for you, we put verbs into <\/span>different folders<\/b><\/span>. If you still remember, there are altogether six folders, the first three being <\/span>Actions<\/b><\/span>, <\/span>Head & Mouth<\/span> (H&M), and <\/span>Brain<\/b><\/span>. Now we will move on to the other three. <\/span>

\nFolder 4<\/b><\/span> includes verbs that have to do with \u2018why\u2019. Why does something happen? What makes it happen? So, it is the Folder of <\/span>REASON.<\/span> <\/span>

They are on the move all the time, like a river, and the sea that it is hard for them to stop. <\/span>Other examples include<\/span> <\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>increase<\/span><\/b>, <\/span>decrease<\/b><\/span>, <\/span>reduce<\/b><\/span>, and <\/span>become<\/b><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>

\nVerbs in <\/span>folder 6<\/b><\/span> are the youngest. They have nothing to do that they have no action whatsoever. They are <\/span>BABY<\/span> verbs. <\/span>
